BENNY.
Human.
An informant for the Los Angeles Police Department, Benny had turned his back on the foremost drug lord of the city’s underworld, an uncharacteristically brave move that landed him in an early grave. After giving the LAPD Narcotics division a lead on Donnelly’s whereabouts, Benny was gunned down and killed before the police officers could intervene to spare their informant’s life.

ELYSSA.
Werewolf.
Fellow pet to Keegan MacIntyre, Elyssa was the only one brave (or desperate) enough to risk her life to free the male who had taken her mistress’ fancy. As she and Keegan fled through the woods, Lavinia’s ‘hounds’ managed to separate the two of them, and Elyssa was stopped before she could get too far. Though her death was not witnessed by her fellow escapee, the screams she sounded before silence fell indicated that the ‘hounds’ had killed her.

DAFFYD APHOWELL.
Werewolf.
Fellow Beta and mate to Nerys Llanfair, Daffyd was the one to save the medium’s life after she was attacked by religious zealots intending to burn her at the stake for being a werewolf, bringing her into his pack and helping her adjust. He was wounded fatally in a fight almost a century later, stabbed in the chest with a silver blade, the metal infecting his organs and bloodstream and ultimately claiming his life.

JULIE ARMSTRONG.
Werewolf.
The former mate to Ashley Noble, Julie was in a vulnerable position from day one; as Ashley’s mate, she could be used against him, and that was an opportunity that a vampire like Naenia saw as too good to pass up. So she killed Julie, ensuring that Ashley Noble was in a weakened frame of mind; Julie’s death was essentially a weapon, and she was used to strike against her mate in the worst possible way.

CARLA BIANCHI.
Werewolf.
Older sister to Irina Bianchi and close friend to Noah Lancione, Carla was a pack member with a day-to-day job beyond the safety of the pack’s home, which ultimately ended her life; employed as an archaeological consultant at a nearby museum, a freak accident led to a new display toppling onto her and causing severe crush injuries that even her werewolf healing abilities could not combat.

ISAAC CULLEN.
Werewolf.
Father to Molly Cullen and former Beta to her old pack in Ireland, Isaac and his mate were killed protecting the pack from a renegade group of vampires who attacked their mansion home and set it ablaze during the fight. Isaac, along with many others in the pack, was killed whilst trying to escape the fire and protect fellow pack members.

MARA CULLEN.
Werewolf.
Mother to Molly Cullen and former Beta to her old pack in Ireland, Mara and her mate were killed protecting the pack from a renegade group of vampires who attacked their mansion home and set it ablaze during the fight. Mara, along with many others in the pack, was killed whilst trying to escape the fire and protect fellow pack members.

ADAM DEVONSHIRE.
Werewolf.
Best friend and intended mate of Annelise Clarimond, Adam was a trusted comrade in the female’s first pack. During an ambush by several rogue male werewolves who intended to take all the females as their breeders, many of the pack were badly wounded, or worse, killed. Adam, unfortunately, was among the casualties, giving his life to defend the females in his pack, Annelise included.

LISA-ANN GREEN.
Human.
Wife to Richard Green, Lisa-Ann was a passionate, friendly artist who had no connection whatsoever to New York’s gritty underworld, but was ultimately claimed by it anyway, despite her husband’s best attempts to keep his home and work lives separate; pregnant though she was at the time, she was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting as she visited a friend, not an intended target but a victim all the same.

MARIA HART.
Werewolf.
Mate to Asher Turner and the werewolf to introduce him to the pack, Maria was never one to say no to an outing, and it was while on one of these excursions that a rogue band of vampires attacked the group of wolves and managed to wound the female badly enough with a silver blade that the metal poisoned her bloodstream, an infection that ended up doing too much internal damage, claiming her life even after she was returned to the pack’s home.

MARI LLANFAIR.
Human.
Mother to Nerys Llanfair and a medium like her daughter, Mari’s sanity gradually began to slip and finally spiralled enough for her to attack her own children, namely her eldest daughter; after her husband subdued her and locked her in the family cellar, where she was brought meals but otherwise completely confined for everyone’s safety, she continued to lose her mind, finally claiming her own life by hanging herself from the rafters with her bed sheets.

JOSEPH LLEWELLYN.
Werewolf.
One of the youngsters in the original pack and an old friend of Molly Cullen’s, Joseph was one of those who was wary of Lucian Mar’s behaviour when he seized power. His mate was far from concerned, and failed to listen whenever he shared his thoughts. Lucian heard all about Joseph’s concerns, his ideas about disbanding the pack and escaping their Alpha, and proceeded to make an example out of Joseph, beating him until he could barely stand and then, finally, tearing out his throat.

CONALL MACINTYRE.
Human.
Father to Keegan MacIntyre, Conall was a poor farmer from Scotland who had to rely more and more on his son as his own strength waned, despite his determination to keep their struggling business afloat. After the disappearance of his son, Conall was never the same, blaming himself; he and his wife worried themselves into increasingly bad health and ultimately wasted away, a combination of age, guilt, world-weariness and fear for their only child.

EIRINN MACINTYRE.
Human.
Mother to Keegan MacIntyre, Eirinn, like her husband, was originally from Scotland and was gradually forced to distance herself from the physical aspects of farming. Like Conall, she was already past her prime when their only son left the farm and proceeded to vanish without a trace. With her child gone, she, like her husband, started to wither, and it was a mixture of concern, exhaustion and her own age that eventually claimed her life, along with her husband’s.

FATHER WILL MACKENZIE.
Human.
Mentor and friend to Deiniol Fey, Father MacKenzie was the peaceful, understanding and well-liked reverend at the Church of Our Lady. It was at that very church one night where Yelena Vityugov played on his sympathetic, compassionate nature and cruelly trapped him in his own confessional box, where she proceeded to tear out his throat, quickly ending his life, albeit in a horrific way.

CIARAN MANNING.
Werewolf.
Father to Steven Manning, Ciaran was a passionate member of the pack, devoted to his mate and a proud fighter. It was his protective nature that ultimately claimed his life when something went horribly wrong in the pack’s Ireland territory; with his son’s life in danger, Ciaran sacrificed himself to spare Steven, and he was crushed to death as rocks fell and struck him before anything could be done to save him.

DIERDRE MANNING.
Werewolf.
Mother to Steven Manning and a well-liked and respected member of the pack, Dierdre shared her mate’s self-sacrificing, noble ways. After losing her mate, she was never quite the same, though she still held true to the pack, and supported her son. During an attack on the pack, she was overwhelmed and subsequently killed before help could arrive, but like a true Manning, she fought fiercely to the end.

CARLOS MANTENEGA.
Werewolf.
Father to Dia Mantenega, Carlos was a fierce member of the pack, feared by many but respected by all. Despite his gruff, fearsome exterior, he was a loving father and mate, and unquestionably loyal to the pack. After his daughter rose to the rank of Beta, he was among a party who fought tooth and claw to defend the pack’s territory, only to be fatally wounded in the process.

EVA MANTENEGA.
Werewolf.
Mother to Dia Mantenega, Eva was loving and very much a mother wolf, a trait she successfully passed along to her daughter. After she lost her mate, Eva became increasingly protective of the pack youngsters, and it was her blind devotion to this duty that ended her life, when a band of particularly vicious and destructive rogues invaded the territory and threatened the lives of those young wolves she had vowed to defend.

EMILY STANTON.
Werewolf.
Mother to Cole Stanton and former Beta female to the pack, Emily and her mate were dedicated fighters and protectors, and not only of their own son; it was this dedication and passion for protecting their pack that drove Emily and her mate to following a misguided command from their Alpha, Gareth Van Tyle, which ultimately led them into a fight they could not win against a large band of vampires, where she was wounded grievously with silver and unable to heal before the wound killed her.

THEODORE STANTON.
Werewolf.
Father to Cole Stanton and former Beta male to the pack, Theodore and his mate had made their pack’s protection their key priority, even with a child of their own to focus on; this blind determination to shield the pack and fulfil their purpose was what led Theodore and his mate to obeying the foolish decision from Gareth Van Tyle, the Alpha at the time, a command that led the Betas into a fight against a large band of vampires that had them severely outnumbered. Like his mate, his life was claimed by a vicious wound from a silver weapon, one that his healing abilities could not repair before it killed him.

EMILINE THOMAS.
Werewolf.
Another old friend of Molly Cullen’s, Emiline was not nearly so disturbed by Lucian’s increasingly fractured state of mind as many of her companions, and that was likely her undoing in the end. She followed Lucian’s word, trusting him to lead her right, and it was one of his misguided decisions that steered Emiline, among others, right into the path of danger; she was struck down and killed by a group of vampires, and all but one of her small party followed her into an early grave.

DUNCAN TYLER.
Human.
Father to Christopher Tyler and a uniformed NYPD officer, Duncan was a dedicated policeman, husband and father, but it was the former that ended his life prematurely. Killed in the line of duty, Duncan’s life was put to an end by a stray bullet in a heated shootout in the streets of New York following a bank hold-up in which several hostages, most of the perpetrators and two officers, including Duncan, were killed.

DIANA WARD.
Human.
Wife to Thatcher Ward, Diana was a fellow vampire hunter and mother to their child, Kara. During an ambush on the hunters’ village, she and her daughter were hidden in the cellar of their home, but after her husband was overpowered, she and her baby were discovered and captured. After the vampires had taken her child from her and barbarically killed the baby, Diana was allowed to say goodbye to her captive husband before she herself was taken away, never to be seen again; even the vampires were apparently not cruel enough to kill his wife in front of him, for reasons unknown.
